At the heart of innovation, Gothenburg will become an important hub for entrepreneurial prowess when it welcomes GoWest 2024, a prominent venture capital forum poised to spotlight startups and scaleups.

With its finger on the pulse of innovation, this three-day event, orchestrated by Sofia Hjelmberg, Event Director at GoWest and Head of Investor Relations at GU Ventures, promises an immersive experience filled with 1-2-1 meetings, top-notch stage programs, a deep tech investor day, pitch sessions featuring investor panels, side events, and an array of networking opportunities.

From pre-seed to seed and Series A, startups and scaleups seeking capital will converge at GoWest. The event will attract a diverse audience, including business angels, venture capital firms, corporate ventures from major corporations, family offices, and various investor configurations.

Keeping the success of the previous year’s event in mind, Sofia Hjelmberg has high expectations for this year’s GoWest edition:

– We anticipate an active involvement from businesses, industries, and innovation stakeholders, drawing inspiration from the positive outcomes of the previous year’s conference, which drew attendees from 12 countries, indicating noteworthy interest from the Baltic region and Northern Europe.

Important Themes in Finance and Climate

GoWest 2024 will delve into two pivotal discussions. Firstly, the financing climate will take center stage, engaging investors and industry experts in multifaceted program points. Secondly, the spotlight will shift to opportunities and challenges within climate tech.

– With two dedicated stages for company pitches and a main stage covering exits, startup valuation, the path to unicorn status, and more, the event assures an engaging blend of insights, discussions, and knowledge exchange, says Sofia Hjelmberg.

GoWest 2024 is set to kick off with the launch of the revamped Swedish Climate Startup Map, offering investors a valuable tool for building portfolios in climate tech.

– The Swedish Climate Startup Map is an additional tool to match the industry with innovative solutions that can benefit both collaboration and investments.

With speakers like Staffan Helgesson of CREANDUM, Julia Reinaud from Breakthrough Energy, and a lineup featuring experts from various sectors, GoWest 2024 is ready to make Gothenburg an important place for entrepreneurship and innovation in the Nordics.

GoWest takes place on February 7-8 at Eriksbergshallen in Gothenburg.
